The physical planning department in the Assembly its primary functions are to create land use and development plans, process building permit applications, and coordinate and control urban and rural development to ensure it is orderly, sustainable, and complies with planning standards. Its importance lies in promoting balanced and organized growth of settlements, improving spatial efficiency, safeguarding the environment, and guiding the formulation of sound development policies to improve public welfare and achieve sustainable development.

The physical planning department in the Assembly functions include defining an organization’s mission and goals, creating short and long-term strategies, analysing the current environment to identify opportunities and risks, and developing comprehensive plans to guide operations and allocate resources. This department also coordinates efforts to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, monitors performance against the plan, and facilitates organizational structure and resource optimization to achieve desired outcomes.
