Business Operating Permit
It is expected that every business within the AASEDA’s jurisdiction obtains a Business Operation Permit.
As the name sounds, a Business operating permit is a license that enables you to undertake/do business in the DISTRICT. In order to fast track the process of acquiring a business Operating Permit and do business with ease within the district, the Assembly has put in the following measures in placeAcquisition of BOP: How to Apply
- Pay for the form and provide necessary information for filling of the form
- Take Certificate at the Revenue Office at the main office.
- Must have registered with the Registrar General’s Department and have been issued with Certificate of Incorporation/Certificate to commence Business.
- Registration and permit(s) from Government Agencies/Recognized Association(s) as may be applicable.
- An inspection team made up of members from Physical Planning Department, Budget and Rating Unit, Environmental and Public Health Unit andWorks Department inspect the premises of the applicant within 5 business days of submission of application.
- The team makes appropriate recommendations to the District Budget Analyst within 2 business days from the day of their inspection.
- Upon recommendation by the inspection team, permit is issued after five (5) working days of submission of application at approved fee.
- Business Operating Permit is valid for one (1) fiscal year and subject to renewal.
- Fee charged depends on the Business type, size and location. Fees are subject to change and regulated by Fee Fixing Resolutionadopted by the General Assembly annually.
- The process for acquiring license/permit for some category of businesses may differ from what has been provided above.

- Beer and Wine Sellers licence
- Petroleum Installations licence
- Palm-wine and Akpeteshie Distillers or Sellers licences
- Herbalists’ licences
- Lorry Park Overseers licences
- Hotels and Restaurants licences
