RECORDS DEPARTMENT

A records unit manages an organization’s information from creation to disposal by establishing retention schedules, controlling record creation and distribution, ensuring security and accessibility, and supervising the filing and retrieval of documents. Key functions include receiving, classifying, and distributing mail and correspondence, managing the physical and digital filing systems, ensuring compliance with retention policies, and transferring permanent records to an archive for long-term preservation.

About Us

The District is endowed with natural resources such as agricultural lands, mineral deposits, forest reserves, water resources and tourist sites. The mineral resources are made up of gold and bauxite. The gold deposits are mined through small scale mining and the rest remained unutilised.
